About the collection

What we collect

Books from the great age of print — roughly the seventeenth century through the early twentieth. Works on fortune and commerce that founded modern business writing, the philosophy and self-mastery texts that everything since borrows from, and the novels, histories and scientific works that shaped how their centuries thought.

How a volume enters

Nothing is added in bulk. Each title is checked against its original edition, catalogued with its author, date and subject, and cleared for distribution before it appears. Where an author's record is incomplete, the volume waits rather than joining the shelves on a guess.

Reading and keeping

Every volume can be read here in full, on any screen, with your place kept between visits. A saved copy — yours to download and keep — is ₹9. That covers the cataloguing, the storage and the bandwidth.

Authors

Where a reliable published biography exists we reproduce it with credit to its source. Where none does, we write a short factual note from the documented record and mark it as ours. We would rather say less than say something we cannot stand behind.
