Maciej Kazimierz Sarbiewski, was a Polish priest and poet, who lived for many years in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and especially its capital, Vilnius. He is considered the most prominent Latin poet of 17th-century Europe, and a renowned theoretician of poetics.
