Madame de (Anne-Louise-Germaine) Staël

Madame de Staël (1766–1817) was a French writer and intellectual active during the Revolutionary and Napoleonic eras. She is known for her novels, including Corinne, and for critical and political works that helped introduce Romanticism to France.
