Richard Chenevix Trench

Richard Chenevix Trench (1807–1886) was an Irish-born Anglican clergyman, poet, and philologist who served as Archbishop of Dublin. He is best known for his influential work on the English language, notably "On the Study of Words," and for proposing the project that became the Oxford English Dictionary.
