A. W. (Adolphus Washington) Greely

Adolphus Washington Greely (1844–1935) was an American Army officer and Arctic explorer who led the ill-fated Lady Franklin Bay Expedition. He wrote works on his polar explorations and later helped organize the U.S. Weather Bureau.
