G. K. (Gilbert Keith) Chesterton (1874–1936) was an English writer, journalist, and Christian apologist active in the late Victorian and early twentieth-century era. He is best known for the Father Brown detective stories, the novel *The Man Who Was Thursday*, and works of Christian apologetics such as *Orthodoxy*.
