Stopford A. (Stopford Augustus) Brooke

Stopford Augustus Brooke (1832–1916) was an Irish-born clergyman and man of letters who wrote works of literary criticism and history, along with sermons and religious writings. He is best known for his popular *Primer of English Literature* and for his studies of English poetry.
