Arthur W. (Arthur William) Ryder

Arthur W. Ryder (1877–1938) was an American Sanskrit scholar who taught at the University of California, Berkeley. He is best known for his English translations of classical Sanskrit works, including the *Panchatantra* and Kalidasa's *Shakuntala*.
