William Francis Patrick Napier

William Francis Patrick Napier (1785–1860) was a British soldier and military historian, best known for his multi-volume "History of the War in the Peninsula," an account of the Peninsular War against Napoleonic France. He served as a general in the British Army and drew on his own combat experience in the Iberian campaigns.
